KEYNOTE SPEAKERS: Prof Chris Clarke, Andrew Robinson
PROGRAMME
The 2011 Network Annual Gathering will be held at New Place, Shirrell Heath, Hampshire from 8 – 10 July 2011. The Programme will begin on Friday evening with a wine reception and dinner.
On Saturday morning there will be two presentations:
Prof. Chris Clarke will speak about Knowing, Being and Doing: connecting science and spirituality in a living planet in which he will argue that the current combination of global warming and societal instability makes it imperative that scientifically based and spiritually based initiatives are brought together.
Andrew Robinson will talk about Genius, Sudden Genius and Creative Breakthroughs, discussing the art and science of such breakthroughs, using examples from both the arts and the sciences, and whether they can be said to follow any law. Although genius does not follow any laws, it seems that creative breakthroughs may. The talks will be followed by a dialogue and plenary discussion.
Saturday afternoon will be free for informal networking or personal excursions to Chichester Cathedral or Beaulieu Abbey. We will have our traditional enjoyable entertainment on Saturday evening, and on Sunday we will hold our formal Annual General Meeting, where Members have a chance to hear from the officers about our work since last year, to contribute to the evolving direction of the Network and to elect new members of the Network Board.
For those of you who have not yet attended the Network Annual Gathering, you will find it a wonderfully stimulating and sociable event where you can meet otherMembers in relaxed surroundings to exchange ideas and experiences.
BOOK BAZAAR: This year we will again be holding a fundraising book bazaar and invite Members to bring their surplus books for sale. You are also welcome to bring copies of your own books for sale on the basis of a 50:50 split of profits with the SMN.
